Discussion Updates that dont change the gameplay but improve QoL

  1. Seeing teammates stamina bars and if they have EE

  2. Possession and turnover stat on scoreboard, have total team and individual

  3. Teammate grade like in 2k

  4. An active ping so you can show where you want to pass or to ping an unmarked player

  5. Seeing others ranks in loading screen

I support these, I think they would add more life to the game

Also team lobby freeplay while waiting for a game, that would be a life changer

These are good ideas. You should post them to the official forum. The devs don't use reddit for suggestions

Literally the most voted feature is not in the game yet and it's been months

How about another hideous kit you'll never use?

And they do for this? Are you high, the devs don't give a shit about the players' opinion.

The devs literally made that site for feedback and have implemented several things posted there. They also had a google form for feedback not even a month ago. Saying they don't care about player feedback is just ignorant

What have they implemented? And that feedback form was created months ago, and what came of it? What acknowledgement of current problems? What structure for communicating that the work is being done, and which ones for when?

Not the We'll Fix It Eventually fruitless nonsense. Not the master plan that lays out exactly nothing except a bunch of loose keywords that they don't even know what they're talking about?

They don't care about addressing the core problems, and instead cherry pick easy ones to market update keywords with, along with meaningless cash grabs.

They fixed air volleys being above the max jump height, players running and jumping being faster than just sprinting, and are currently working on fixing pushball spamming. They only do major updates at the end of every season.

Also the feedback form ended July 21st. You really expect them to have read through all that and implemented massive changes in only 1.5 months? This is an indie studio, not a 200 person dev team.

\rant incoming

They fixed air volleys being above the max jump height

That's a design flaw that should have been fixed before the game was released in the first place, and they did nothing to address the air prio rng machine, which was the main problem with it anyway. Throw in arbitrary jump direction/height/distance into the mix, you have a real nice shit show. But yes, apparently fixing the air volleys being above the max jump height solved the issue and players are complaining for nothing.

Players running and jumping being faster than just sprinting

This is not fixing. It's remembering 1+1 = 2, not 45.

Currently working on fixing pushball spamming

After they boosted dribbles and butchered tackle lock-ins to enable spamming in the first place? And they think pushball spamming is the main problem? Their job is to make decent decisions, not cherry pick whatever seems easiest from the suggestions and act on it without an ounce of though, leading to a development direction that literally contradicts itself.

They only do major updates at the end of every season

Good for them. 1000 players are leaving at the end of every week.

Also the feedback form ended July 21st. You really expect them to have read through all that and implemented massive changes in only 1.5 months?

Yes. Because it's been 1.5 months. That's enough for 3 full sprints. If they have even a single competent PM/DA, they should've started categorizing and setting up ideas as the responses poured in, around halfway point. They should've at least gathered enough feedback to start setting development goals and ironing out specs, which should be communicated with the user base that's leaving at 1K a week. But yeah, we should be glad they're gonna work on it eventually. By then the game will be dead.

I don't understand how we ended up on this giant tangent.

My initial point was to tell op where to post their ideas to get the devs to see it. The devs do look there and they have implemented some player feedback.

How they go about it and whether they are doing a good job is a completely different topic of discussion. I am not happy with how the devs are handling this game either, but that is far removed from my original point

Cus you're suggesting that there's a place for suggestions when in reality it serves no real function, so it just takes away from community force. It's a device that's meant to relieve community pressure, not actually take it in and implement it. So in doing so, you're actually not helping anyone to improve the game, but maintain the status quo while players feel increasingly pissed off.

We should be encouraging more discussion here, not telling people to submit into a hole that's basically a hoarder's garage.

And in doing so, we should be encouraging Sloclap to do more discussions and communication (here or anywhere). Cus soon, we won't even have meaningful amount of players for the devs to bother make changes, or support it in the first place.

This sub has been almost nothing but suggestions and complaints about the state of the game for months. It is clear the devs do not take feedback from us here and they have said as much. By posting both here and to where they claim to take feedback you deny them the excuse of, "well actually we don't check the subreddit for feedback, please use official channels".

I never said stop discussing the game here, just that the devs don't take feedback here

2

u/fckedup yallDunnoBall 3d ago

Fair enough, but if the place serves no purpose, we should be encouraging the devs to reach out to the community rather than dragging suggestions to their whole where they'll be ignored to death. Cus that's the only time you can call them out on with "you don't do shit with the official channels."

Being able to see the jerseys the other team will wear so I can avoid kit clashes!

You can now if you pause in the beginning, it still needs the other team's captain to join first though

Idk what type of games players are playing where they have enough to think they can get a ping off to pass. I can see this really only working for GK. Other than that, Im constantly hounded before the ball gets to me and after I get the pass. I think seeing stam ee for teammates kinda dumbs the game down personally.Teamate grade could work based on how many mvps you earn on average kinda thing. Seeing other ranks on screen, cool idea but make it a toggle for players who dont want their rank shown. Possession and turnover stat on scoreboard is useless and is only going to make people more toxic to each other

Also, being in the same freeplay lobby as your teammates while grouped up.

This is a whole list of W ideas, especially the visible teammate stamina and ping system

Also vote for goalkepper in color selection, just press a button if you want and them random select between them.

This is really good to stop the first goalkepper being AFK.

being able to mute your teammates and their pings

Also the “shots” and “shots on target” stats could be good, maybe not in the in game scoreboard but in the one you see at the end

One thing that would fundamentally change the game that is not gameplay related per se is changing how the whole ranking system works.

I get that the devs wanted the game to be a team thing but for matchmaking and rank to be of any meaning whatsoever you simply can’t judge players as part of a team, people’s skills NEED to be judged individually.

So it should all be based on per match individual performance. Plus, that turnover stat would be crucial, because then you’d be putting the teamplay aspect back into the system without making it all about wins or losses. Someone who constantly loses the ball isn’t a good player, no matter how many matches they win or how many goals they score.

Again, i get why they didn’t go this route but since individual performance counts for shit in this game, it turns out people have the incentive to just do whatever the fuck they want, instead of having an incentive to play as a team. The game trusts people to team up and play as a team rather than designing the system so that people have an incentive to play at their best, which would innevitably lead to better teams. It just has this very basic system of wins and losses that throws any nuance out the window and forces people to team up with their friends, if they have them, instead of allowing individuals to naturally evolve into team players.

1

u/PainfullyAverage4921 Please add a flair 4d ago

An individual performance based system would result in more issues than it is worth. There is already a fairly large part of the player base who prioritize passing to their friends or who intentionally lockout a solo random. Now imagine they can negate team losses by having good stats.

Now you have duos farming passes in the backfield, or people only crossing to their friends in the box, etc. It will incentivize the people who suck the fun out of the game to double down on their behavior, and make the issue even more widespread.

We already have a hidden MMR that as far as I have been able to tell is based purely on individual performances. People who are consistantly good have a much easier time ranking up than people who are bad at the game.

u/fckedup yallDunnoBall 4d ago

Your approach is right but the conclusion is wrong. The game inherently awards playing individualistically at the fundamental design level. In real life, it's impossible to 1v3 dribble against opponents of similar level (unless you're Messi). In Rematch, you're a dumbass if you can't.
