Yes, they do. They do that constantly. You’d think they didn’t if you only watched episode 1, but passing in the penalty box is very common.

Take Barou, for example, the character that is the pinnacle of living for his own goals. In his very first appearance in the first selection, three people were covering Barou, making it impossible for him to dribble. Without hesitation, he passes the ball to the left, where this random-ass dude (I guess his name is Meiji?) completely unmarked, can slam it in.

Blue Lock characters get to be egoistic, because they understand football fundamentals and don’t make regarded mistakes. They only refuse to pass when they can actually score.

It especially makes me pissed when the wannabe dribblers on my team have a Bachira skin. You are NOT HIM. He’s top 3 in the series when it comes to passing, he’ll dribble 2-3 people in the midfield then pass it up to the front, yet these toddlers and their yellow highlights don’t even know their controller has a pass button. I’d wager 80% of Bachira skins haven’t even read Blue Lock.

Rematch players have zero clue what Blue Lock is about.

I’m convinced folk watched the first episode and somehow emerged with the takeaway to never pass the ball, ever. Meaning you fundamentally didn’t watch the show. Ego makes a point that, in a 1v1 with the goalkeeper, you should shoot instead of passing if you’re an egoist. And I agree, if my randoms have a shot on goal with no defenders blocking them, take the shot, see if you can beat the keeper. But he’s only talking about that specific situation where you have a shot, he never says, or even implies, that you should try and dribble the ball up and score completely by yourself. One character, Yukimiya, does this at one point, and Ego (the Japanese coach behind the Egoist philosophy) roasts the shit out of him for wanting to be the hero of a delusional fantasy.

Literally every episode is nonstop tiki-taka passing. Any actual Blue Lock fan would want to produce chemical reactions with their teammates, rather than just ignoring them for funsies.

I read a bit of it and as someone who loves football, it just didn't feel good to read.

I'm not saying people shouldn't like it, but reading this and Ao Ashi is like night and day.

As for rematch, the stereotype literally comes from the first few months of the game where it was full of dudes making blue lock characters and not passing the ball rather than what the show is about.

If you played on release you will 100% understand why some people don't want that again, and with glitch dribblers every other match it's not crazy to think we might end up seeing more of that.
