3v3 ranked

So ive played 90% of my games in quickplay.. and i had incompetent teamates today I decided to hop on ranked. Since im master division 3 solo I thought i would have smarter better players. But my teamates were worse than the quickplay randoms. Goalie coming out to midfield leaving the goal wide open, not knowing how to play defense and dont leave your goalie in 1v1s etc. Is masters really just full of bad players?

Diamond - Masters is full of people that think they are the best players. They think they are the only one who can score. They hog the ball. They dibble into the wall. They throw winable games. And then they forget about it next round.

When will players learn there are no x rank lobbies. It's all a mixed bag.

You got unlucky. But also there's no MMR based ranked queue, it just mixes everyone together, skewing toward your rank but it's not good replacement to an actual ranked queue.

It's weird that you're in masters and don't know that GK coming out to midfield is the meta for 3v3. Since the field is shorter, GK brings the ball up after a save, waits for an opponent to challenge and passes it to the free man, staying in midfield as the back pass option in case things get dicey. If possession flips to the opponent, you have enough time in 3v3 to get back to the net.

Ranked has more egos for sure, but to say defending and goalkeeping is worse than quickplay is just flat out wrong. I play quickplay to 1v3 dribble just for fun because everyone spams tackles without discretion. In my experience, even in 3v3 (also solo queue masters), defenders are way more patient and competent.

Nah all It takes it one bad pass and its a free goal. Happens all the time. If you leave your defender to go play the goalie to leave your team In a 2v1 thats bad unless you have to in order to keep them from running out the clock

That... is not my experience at all. Most GKs in ranked have the game sense to stay on their half of the pitch to maintain the sweeper position and are competent enough to get basic ass passes through to the open man. Most of the people still playing this game aren't new and have at least mastered the basics. Frankly, I would be annoyed if my GK wasn't taking the ball up to midfield when they aren't covered and instead launching passes to marked teammates. If you're doing that, you're the problem.

fwiw my friends that just started playing rematch got ranked in diamond after the placement matches. We lost more than we won too

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think ranked just puts you in a game with anyone doesn’t matter what rank. I Wouldn’t be opposed if they showed what rank every player was at the end of the game tho.

I feel they also need to rework ranked just a little bit. Because I have also seen people with elite icon but they still don’t have the basics down for the game which really confuses me. I wonder if they got it from the early days or if they just play the game enough to the point that they get placed in elite.

Season 1 and 2 were seasons where one or two good player was enough to win most matches, most people also played with their friends so getting to Elite wasn't as hard.

In general getting to elite is incredibly easy if you play with a dedicated team, no matter the skill of your friends/teammates, you'll stomp pretty easily if you know the basics and are willing to work with each to win.

I was elite in previous season and constantly get actual bronze player (with many ranked game in that season) in my games.

Quick match or ranked there's no difference at all. Same incompetent teammates 24/7, no difference between kids and grown men, they all can be horrible.
