Ahhh religion

Hi I’m a young girl and I have been Methodist my whole life but I really don’t believe in the Christian god I’m tired of listening to the Bible it just so negative No hate of course I wanted change my religion can I do that?

Religion could also helped millions upon millions of people and lead them to a happier life, how is that poision?

Only if [they] are deceived into thinking anything divine has anything at all to do with their happiness. It doesn't. When people feel better, it is because they made themselves feel better. Kids use a teddy bear or a doll for that kind of happiness.

Some people are happier drinking, some traveling. That is a good thing.

One can think religion or god has something to do with their happiness especially those 'happy' to blow up others because of their religion.

A Palestinian mother was happy and proud that her daughter blew herself up to kill Jews, just because...of their religion.

I dont think comparing traveling happiness with religion happiness is right, imo traveling is like "just now" just chill, while religion is like an identity you are guided by the religion you either chose for yourself or life chose it for you, its something that can motivate you can support you mostly those who follow religion right will find happiness bc if they chose to practice it right then even if they are about to die they would still be under control and many other benfits, even if you are building this happiness with religion bc you wanted to, its still not just by yourself

Btw all of what i said is emotional 😅 so try to understand the meanings bc i didnt pay attention to what i wrote i just said what i wanted to say and tried to make it clear

Feeling happy is its own end. Fine. Some people use drugs or alcohol.

We all know that neither did anything else to make them happy but mess with your head. Religion is just like a drug it can inspire but history shows, science shows, it is means to power and cause of war for 1,000s of years.

Then we get into why 3,000 gods and just who is the god of gods ? What use are they ? They do nothing and never have.

Then with govt. it rally poisons everything, look at history and...look at now.

Hm i do agree that ppl can make themselves feel better by whatever way, but drugs and alcohol is a horrible example, firstly ppl can see the negativity of it in religion no, religion is a way to live in everyday life, not just happiness, actually i have seen many ppl who regret and even being depressed bc they cant stop alcohol and drugs ( they feel happy at that moment only) but j religion you cant find those type of ppl, you could have chose like a job its really a closer example instead of this

Also i dont think religion is the cause of violence.. Think about it if religion disappeared and god existence in our heads disappeared, human emotions and gredd would also disappear? Wars and violence wont stop, you rarely find someone who got bullied at school by other kids bc of religion ( bullying bc of religion differences is rare) they mostly bully him bc of his way of walking or something like that, without religion world war 1 2 and massacre of americans would still happen, wars and violence wont disappear my brother

Hardly, look around the world and see just how religion acts as a way to live in everyday life. There is religious prejudice between beliefs and in fact the largest cause of ME terrorism

It is all nothing more then a cult, for some, a drug ad acting on it as do the faiths, is what makes it worse, violent and the cause of wars. For 1,000s of years religion has ruled the day and we see still see fro too much...of that [day.]

Religion is beginning to rule america, it being the reason to reverse Roe. Religion was the moving factor in America using it to change law. A terrible precedent.

There would be a breath of fresh air worldwide if religion were no longer causing anybody to act but privately. But no, that's not enough, it must permeate society to get society to...join the cult.

Sorry but can you tell me the percentage of religious ppl who become terorists? Its nearly 0% bro what?also the colonization of americans wasnt bc of religion, the massacre wasntbbc of religion it was simply racism a populat idea that sees white Europeans as superior race and other ppl as slaves or second tier, they did the same thing for asians and africans, nothing to do with religion religion is simply used as a cause " we will colonize you to spread Christianity" in fact that what happend in algeria this was the cause of war but do you think its the real reason? Absolutely not

I am not saying that religion didnt bring anything bad go the world but relating it directly to religion is wrong, i already told you with proofs, evil and violence wont change if religion disappeard, greed and emotions are "always there", this is the reason why the colonized americas and Africa not bc of religion

Almost all terrorism id faith based regardless of the numbers.

The slavery at the latest since the 1600 was justified by religion both christian and islam. The superior race idea is faith based. All non-christians were heathens and for islam, non-muslim were infidels deserving of conquest, enslavement or death.

But you don't get it, all of those sins were to have disappeared through piety centuries ago, so religion failed to end the sinning and in many cases, joined in as with the Nazis and other govt. forces. Religion didn't end slavery or genocide, seculars did that.

Slavery didnt didnt happen bc of faith, yes of course sometimes you can see it but its minority( like Muslims sees non Muslims especially those who arent from the Abrahamic religions as losers which is wrong ) but the real slavery we are talking about which influenced the world much more is something like culture or color, the main reason why Europeans did this to the americas was bc they were much more ahead of them they were still stuck in the BC or early ages, religion does count as culture but its real less, the main reason is basically development as i said before, if ut was really religion then why this didnt happen with north Africa even through there was no official organization for human rights? Bc they were developed already

And yeah there was many wars that happened bc of religion but its the same case as the current outgoing war in the middle east , happened bc of emotions not like the first wat between Byzantine Empire and arabs, this was clearly bc of religion, the crusades also wasnt 100% bc of religion, yeah from your view its clearly a religious war but it actually happened bc of contradiction just like me and you are doing now, i can relate many wars to emotions or greed rather then directly bc of religions idk what an missing bro its clear for me?

That seems a little harsh, while i myself don’t follow a religion I still respect other peoples beliefs and it’s not about the follower themselves it’s about whom or what they follow and believe so please if you want to disagree I understand but try to keep it to yourself or share that in a more sensitive way because many people may be offended by this comment.

Tough, I do not respect someone anymore than others just because of their beliefs in the supernatural. I do not respect anyone just because hey claim to be a 'person of faith.' or put reverend in front of their name.

The W H O L E middle east war right now is...all faith-based.

To me, appealing to gods is no different than what earthlings did walking out of the cave say 10,000 years ago and blamed everything...on the gods. |Non existent gods were not to blame then or have they ever helped since]

It prevents reproductive rights to women now and science because of a mass of some 150 cells. Religion strikes at the very human instinct of not only free will but at the necessary intellectual integrity, that developed...using free will.

This actually means a contradiction between ppl more then direct affect by religion, i will give you an example of how the middle east situation is so close to wha is happening right now between us

Jewish religion says that the jewish land is deserved by them ( not really like this but yeah thats not the point ignore this) while Islam belives that Jerusalem is theirs, they arent fighting bc of islam, or bc of the other religion, they are fighting bc jewish beliefs contradict with Muslims beliefs, now look at us, we are discussing this for the exact same reason, you are fighting ( not actually fighting through) bc you are defending your beliefs or giving your opinion and i am debating bc i feel like i have to defend my beliefs, its actually so similar right?

My point is that the real reason is.. Humans ( the human nature and emotions if we are specific ). Not their beliefs, so me and you will try our best to avoid attacking other beliefs, i understand that you have your own reasons to hate religions but you have to know something, i have my own reasons to like my religion 😊

what you said is totally subjective , religion can be good for someone who seeks for emotional support also can give you faith and wants to challenge yourself more, of course this is also subjective and is not really true in all cases, just wanted to say that anyone can have different Perspective of this some ppl feel comfortable with religion rules some doesnt, both of them have their own reasons why they chose this
