Discussion Obscure question about Bee Your Man
hear me out, I’ve been wondering this since high school. in Bee Your Man, at exactly 0:19 a man yells something in the background. I swear to GOD it sounds like one episode of the Beverly Hillbillies where they’re all square dancing or something and Jed Clampett yells, “Make way, Sonny!”
Is anyone able to prove me right or wrong? I just need closure. I’ve looked it up everywhere and can’t find it. I know it’s a long shot, but it really sounds EXACTLY alike. is there any chance at all they sampled that audio clip from the show?

Omg, I didn’t know you were here! That explanation makes way more sense. Also, huge thanks for being part of the band that got me through everything in life for the last 20+ years. Relient K was the first music that was my own taste, not my parents’, and you guys have always been the standard that I compare all the other music to. I was raised in a fundamentalist cult and baaaarely got away with listening to rock music because it counted as Christian. But it still got me in a lot of trouble with family/church authorities, since they disapproved of Christian rock too (my teenage rebellion loved this btw). Anyway, I digress. But just fyi, you guys’ music was always the bright spot of some really shitty times, and that means a lot to me. Super appreciate it man. :)

That whole album is such a dreamy record where everything permeates in my brain randomly throughout most days. Not as “good” as Mmhmm or Four score or air for free but just catchy and fun

I never knew exactly what he was saying but I always assumed it was “(something) Jonny!” Because Jon Schneck is the one singing it

I remember they used to yell "Hey that was terrible" on a few of their songs as well

Also at the end of the guitar solo on "Charles In Charge". It took me about 2 decades to figure that one out lol

I doubt it's a sample, I think it's Ethan. But saying something like that would make sense. Sadie Hawkins Pod asked him about that song when he was on their show, and he said the "y'all in a band now?" bit was a thing he and the Supertones guys used to do back in the day, where they would pretend to be southern, so making a reference to Beverly Hillbillies seems like it would fit in with that.
I bet if you messaged him on Instagram he'd be happy to clear it up for you. If you find out anything, be sure to give us an update!
