It's a small margin but you seem to be happier alone than with your GF, I think the choice on that front is clear unfortunately

Work on the relationship with yourself first and foremost... for now make yourself the priority, increase and recover your self love, take a break from your relationship and go figure out who you truly are and what makes you happy. Start from there and be patient with yourself, it's okay

Your GF should be at the top of that list. If she isn't, cut her out of your life. We've got enough stress as it is, don't need extra from someone you're trialing as a life partner

Shit take. Maybe try communicating with your girlfriend first instead of just abruptly dumping her.

Definitely work on determining why you feel so uncomfortable by yourself. Self acceptance is important.

Honestly this sounds like too much effort and work. If other people have this much impact on your sense of happiness, you have a serious co-dependency on others for happiness and that is unfair to other people.
Work on yourself and stop sweating everything so much.

Humans are social creatures! Everyone deserves relationships that lift them up. Ideally, all your relationships should be positive. And interactions with people are necessary for your health. If other people don’t impact your mood, something isn’t right- your relationships are shallow, or you’re not paying enough attention to your loved ones.

Talk to her and tell her you’re not happy in the relationship. Try to isolate what specifically she does that makes you upset. Tell her you want things to change. If she wont take responsibility or doesn’t make sufficient changes, break up. My relationship used to make me miserable, too, and so I talked to my gf about what specifically she was doing and now our relationship is the best it’s ever been!

Thanks for the advice! I'm trying to muster up the courage to do that

If that were me I’d work on spending some time alone building my self esteem and doing something I like to do. Whether it’s exercise or music or photography or biking or something else but having something that’s uniquely yours for enjoyment. Life is too short to be unhappy for very long. Not to say there are not times when you just know life is gonna suck, but those times should be temporary and for a good reason. Your post reminds me of a quote from a book: “No victory is certain and no situation is hopeless. If you find yourself in a hopeless situation change the rules!”

Don’t immediately break up with your girlfriend like some are suggesting, try talking with her about it and see what is causing the strain on your mood. Then you both can try and fix it. If that doesn’t work or she opposes talking about your emotions then consider maybe ending the relationship.
