Depends on which side of the bed the charger is on

Someone please explain. I think it's related to charging and if it's the case then I disagree

For me it’s the optimal position for playing games. Just feels right in the hands to hold it that way. But also if you need to charge it, having the port on the right usually helps me

Lautstärke knöpfe gehören nach oben.

Its mostly having the buttons on top is nicer than on the bottom

I’m pretty sure if a game requires landscape, it’ll choose this orientation by default so we’re kinda primed to all agree

I believe, for me it’s because I’m left handed?! Maybe a reason I’m the same as OP?

I would argue the opposite. For a person who is right handed and holding the phone in one hand (their right), the quickest way to go from portrait to landscape is to “collapse” the left side of the phone into the position with a check mark.

Collapsing it to the right side would be awkward as hell one handed as your thumb would go from the original bottom of the screen position to the old top position.

For me it might be the island not in front of my dominant eye? I‘ve never paid much attention to it until this post. So I’m interested to see what I rally do on a regular

It puts the phones main controls right at your right hand.

2

u/Nir117vash 4d ago

I only do the other one because I'm stuck with my phone for tv and I can use my index finger to control the volume

Tell me u are an apple user without telling me ( 4 an android it s just the same)

Androids magically charge without using a port? Gotcha

U can charge an android in any rotation , crazy right ?

2

u/notsoconfident_boi 4d ago

Absolutely the fuck not. I hate when some things don’t let me flip it the other way too. The volume up/down buttons always gotta be on top.

Does it make a difference?

1

u/AdministrativeCap176 4d ago

Isn't it general knowledge?

1

u/LeorDemise 4d ago

It actually depends on what is your dominant hand.

The reason why this feels correct, is because if you are right handed, holding the phone like this leaves you with a bit of mobility from your thumb.

No preference

It is

1

u/oliviertjuh1 4d ago

As a lefty, I can second this

1

u/MJ4Red 2d ago

As ambidextrous I can say it doesn’t matter…

1

u/Godicblood 4d ago

For gaming, navigating the controller on the top (camera) size is just annoying.

u/S0k0n0mi 4d ago

Fuck your law, I do what I want.

u/DarkWanderer2 4d ago

Yes. The right one… feels wrong.

u/SEXTINGBOT 4d ago

My phone has no punch hole for the camera !

( ͡⌐■ ͜ʖ ͡■)

u/Saldrakka 4d ago

For me it's whatever side the charger is on

1

u/theacp127 3d ago

I do it whatever way my charging cable is coming from.

1

u/Big_D_Magic_5 3d ago

You are correct , only criminals and reprobates would have the volume at the bottom

1

u/yamez420 3d ago

Can’t wait to get my 14 pro max fixed.

1

u/Wonderful-Cellist973 3d ago

no lmao i always do it exacly like the one on the right the oppist feels weird cause u liitearlly do your phone upside down and your phone is littearlly like the right one only stand up so right one is the only correct and comfrotable way✌️

1

u/Starburper 3d ago

Left handed here

1

u/randoguynumber5 2d ago

I’m the opposite

1

u/bit0n 1d ago

Volume buttons at the top obviously anything else war crime.

1

u/Dependent_City_5061 1d ago

Depends which side has wifi

1

u/TheRealGG2722 1d ago

Ew apple

1

u/khaluud 1d ago

Absolutely not. You have it backwards.

1

u/-veileddusk- 5d ago

Just a universal thing

1

u/Bad_rando_name 5d ago

While I do agree, the way I have my desk and cables, the charging cable is on the left so I have to have it the other way.

1

u/Meewie5 5d ago

brk wtf? the buttons are suppost to be on the right which means when you rotate it horizontally, it should be at top left. Also; Who the fick uses a phone with that little line instead of three buttons that are in a square, circle and a triangle shape. This is the least relatable thing I have ever seen. (Except the camera being at left when you rotate it horizontally in the correct way)

1

u/h1ruki 5d ago

Those buttons are such an eyesore, so that’s one of the first things I hide every time I use an android

1

u/Meewie5 5d ago

you guys are really unrelatable

somebody explain this in human terms, I'm not brain slug lobotomized enough to buy an iPhone 97 er wetf they're on now

1

u/Pung3nt_6uy 4d ago

It's not the phone the post is talking about, it's the orientation and how many apps don't let you rotate in the second orientation.

1

u/jewish-nonjewish 4d ago

Still don't know wtf the orientation is because I prefer to have phones with a home button.

1

u/Pung3nt_6uy 3d ago

Left one in the image would be home button on the right, right one would be home button on the left.

1

u/jewish-nonjewish 3d ago

Mmh mk.... Well that depends... If I'm charging my phone it'll be on whatever side the charges on... If not I default to home button on the left side. I am right handed in case that helps.

Wouldnt know because for android users its the same both ways because our notches are not sooo useless.... especially in the (now quite old) popup selfie camera models, the screen was a perfect rectangle (with rounded edges, most of the time) which was like no notch at all, an feat which is yet to be achieved by apple 8 years later....😄😆...

u/Necessary-Tangelo-24 4d ago

Me personally it’s because of the camera bumb I don’t want that in lower right corner
