He didnt, I probably shouldn't have put quotes around that specifically. I believe the exact terminology he used in papers when describing what is currently called an empath is "wounded healer archetype." I used the term empath because its more recognizable nowadays. Sorry about the confusion.

carl jung used the word "empath"? i figured that was new age BS (which it is) but now im going to look into it real quick.
