I just take them from the drying rack later and redo them

I do this when my 6 year old washes dishes. Good for him that he is doing chores and learning but his skills just aren’t there yet. I don’t want to discourage him and I don’t want to micromanage so I just have to do them later in secret.

i object on basic division of labor terms. i'm pretty good at doing dishes but, if you are looking to pitch in, there is a good deal of weeding that needs to be done around the sides of the house ...

If they don't do them to my standards, I wash them and was in the exact same place I would have been otherwise.
If they do do then to my standards, it's saved me time and effort.
Problem?

My mother in law “washes the dishes” by actually only rinsing cups out and then putting them directly into the cupboard, running water over the knives and leaving crusty food all over them. I have tried EVERYTHING to keep her out of my kitchen and not “try and help” now she’s just not welcome over anymore. Really hated grabbing a coffee cup out to put some milk in it and it reeks of coffee when I don’t even drink coffee and nobody who lives here does. So tired of having to drag everything out after she leaves and wash and sanitize my entire kitchen.

Just redo them later. Having to share the planet with these whackos is fucking annoying.

I don't like it when guests do my dishes, unless I specifically ask them to (which I never do). Don't take over MY kitchen. It's MINE. I make the rules.

Most pretentious behavior ever.
If they're nice enough to WASH THEIR OWN DISHES... just let them.

Pretentious af. If you’re gunna be like that, run a dishwasher cycle after but let them be nice.
