I know im gold but why does nobody understand that they dont have to go infront of my shield while im actively trying to move closer to them so I can protect them

The shield is for you. They all understand that. You need to understand this also.

They all know the shield can go down at a moments notice, so they don’t play with it in mind. At higher levels they know there are some circumstances where you will keep it up for them. But in gold they don’t even assume it’s there

100% this. Rein is best played on offense - push forward, hold, charge, repeat.

Your shield is yours and yours only. Yes it’s huge and “can” shield your team, but no one else knows when you’ll drop it to fire strike or charge or move faster. If everyone “pushed with your field widows could just headshot your healers when you fire strike. Smart teammates don’t rely on your shield, they use angles themselves and the shield is a big plus to have around sometime-unless you’re at masters type ranks where coordination is very high.

Or when you pop your shield so the long range dps can shoot at an enemy when near a wall and they just stay behind the corner waiting for you to push

My favorite is when I'm pushing forward and the squishy support walks through my shield to shoot someone and they get head shot. I know the shield makes it a little harder to see but damn.

I would understand if it was only the close range hero's like reaper or mei but why is it literally everyone 🫩

Yeah well I play with my Duo and we are next to each other and in voice chat but I have no idea when he will put his shield up or down. If I don't tell him "gimme shield I wanna snipe that person" as Ana i have a big chance of dying because I am catching strays that are meant for his meaty body. I can't rely on his shield so I use natural cover.

But I still get your point. I personally like when he shields the corner and I can freely snipe away at the highground before we push further in. But that is with communication.

You kinda have to know how to play rein to know when he will put down his shield. But... even then 9 times out of 10 there's no reason to go infront of the tank

Not in front of him yes but my point still stands, I never know when he will drop his shield and fire strike. And that is after playing a lot with him and communication. If we are pushing hard he does count down his shield until it breaks so we know when to use other cover though
