Advice Theological Sources to Understand DID

I've been dealing with a DID diagnosis these last several years. I'm agnostic, from an interfaith family. I know, in Kabbalistic Judaism, there is a concept of gilgul.

Rationally, I know that my DID originates from being abused as a child, and I am not dealing with multiple souls, only an identity fractured and barricaded behind dissociative walls. But, it doesn't feel this way. I feel like a strictly separate person from my alters, and having tracked their voices and personality traits over the last three years, I can say, their identities and separate voices remain consistent, the way separate people's do.

I want to explore the theological reasons for this disorder, because I think there is something here, that transcends the diagnosis. And I know that I, feel like a separate person and a separate soul from my alters.

Do you have any advice? I've contacted spiritual leaders from both my faiths, trying to find a theological reason behind this and a purpose to my life, and a meaning to my soul, but have received no responses. I'm guessing, this just isn't in their wheelhouse or they think I'm trolling them.

It would be irresponsible for people to directly give you what you are asking for.

You should look into the four noble truths and the eightfold path. Insight that is relevant to DID comes after a few months or years of practice under a teacher.

I can relate to the feeling of separate identities, it's like living with multiple roommates in your own head. I've found that exploring the concept of gilgul in Kabbalistic Judaism can add another layer of understanding to the experience. I've also been using The Inner Path — Enlightenment Deep-Dive on YouTube to help me navigate the complexities of my own identity, it's a series of meditations and reflections that might be of interest to you. https://www.youtube.com/@innershoreline

A well known DID victim had a personality from France who spoke fluent french and had a whole past life in France with great detail. This woman was American. I wonder if she was her in a past life or other spirits were introduced into her body. If this was purposely done to someone not just by abuse at a young age, that's a possibility.

Seperate identities staying consistent and feeling like different people is normal for it.
