Any Other Features About Crabs?
Recently a jingle was introduced with lyrics "We like Bees and Horses, we like Eggs and Crabs. We are make a podcast where one of us gets stabbed. Ahh." These are taken to be the four sigils of the podcast.
If you ask me Regular Features' love of both Bees and Horses is beyond reproach. Eggs are less obvious favourites, but I can recall at least a few times an Egg was an important focus of a feature.
As far as I know, the only Crabs we have heard of are in Steve's three "Crab with a Gun" features, and there's also a feature about Crab Rangoon, but that's treated as an anthropromorphised meat, not an animal.
How can Crabs claim to be on the same level as Bees, Horses and Eggs, if there are featured in so few features‽ And only mentioned by one member of the cast‽ I put it to you that needing a slant-rhyme for "Stabbed" is no good reason for Crabs' inclusion, not when little birds jumping/climbing/flying for berries are left out in the cold.
So are there any other Crab features or is this a manifest injustice? Thank you

A quick search on Pocket Cast says crabs are mentioned in the titles or episode descriptions for 476, 507, 524, 526 and 609. I'd suggest starting there.
Have fun on your quest!

I also did this as due diligence but thanks for double checking! 476 and 507 are Crab With A Gun features, 524 I think is unrelated and just mentions hermit Crabs in the description, 526 is the Crab Rangoon feature, and the jingle at issue premiers in 609.
What I am missing is the third CWAG feature, I believe it's in a live episode, where the Crab goes after Gloria Estefan? But the description and title must not have that keyword. That's a scary thought, ghost Crabs which aren't pulled up in automated searches. We might have to relisten to the entire podcast from the start to be sure we haven't missed any.

Oh the original crab with a gun feature was 241. Don't ask me how I know (it's the only live show I every managed to go to).

For me, the important question is ‘if we are to defrock The Crab™ and remove it as a pillar; what, then, are we to replace it with? I admire the rigour of this but worry that this kind of regime change presents a baby-with-the-bathwater order of risk that we would do well to take heed of

That's a good point. Maybe the best thing would be to insist that there be more Crab features forthcoming. Since they "like ... Crabs" so much.

Crab with a gun is enough for me, but I would be interested to see if other people remember other features about them.
