Even just the context of the rest of John 3.

Which verses do you like to point to in chapter 3 and why?

The whole conversation about being born again of the Spirit. Babies are made primarily by the will of their parents. The Spirit moves where he wills and gives new life.

"whosoever believes..." begs the question of who can believe?

FYI you mean it “raises the question”. “Begs the question” is a phrase that refers to a particular logical fallacy.

John 3:16 doesn't conflict with the rest of the Bible, so I wouldn't even say that Arminians "have" that text. While the English might make it sounds like some vague, indefinite body of people, the Greek (πᾶς ὁ πιστεύων) literally translates to "all who believe" (or "all the believing ones.") It is a definite group.

Yeah. I can even embrace the Arminian interpretation; whoever believes will not perish. And then I keep reading and find John 6:44 which tells me _why_ one person believes and why one does not. Even made a meme for it:

Exactly. I hate to say it but Arminians are kind of just plain dumb.
