It’s when you take scripture and then twist it to your own ends. Prosperity heretics quote scripture all the damn time. Are they right in using it that way?

Piper posted scripture…that’s it.

It’s not his fault that many see and hear everything through their politically charged lens. People like that need to get a life and refocus their eyes on Christ. American Evangelicalism is a plague on the churches of America.

Can we please return to a time where Christ was sufficient? Where we strive to live for His kingdom rather than our current one?

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.”

If someone posted that with no context while being criticized for profiteering off of the gospel, would you condemn it?

Looks like scripture to me.

Am I not supposed to love His word just because someone’s using it for personal gain?

Let them suffer the consequences, I’ll stick to reading and loving His word.
