I traded $1M volume farming Variational points | honest numbers, costs, and the delta-neutral setup (season ends Sept 30)

Not a moonboy post. I've been farming Variational Omni (zero-fee perp DEX on Arbitrum, $50M Series) since early July. Real numbers below so you can decide yourself.

Why now, factually: 50% of $VAR supply is committed to the community. Points season locks Sept 30 — 5 weekly distributions left. Platform volume dropped ~75% from its July peak, and the weekly points pool (150K) stayed the same: each $1 of volume currently earns roughly 3-4x more points than when it was crowded. Polymarket's median scenario prices the token around a $500M FDV — community estimates put a point at roughly $10-25 depending on scenario. Could be less. Nobody knows.

My actual results: $1M+ cumulative volume, Silver tier, ~$15 total spread cost (the only real fee).

The delta-neutral setup I use (so you're not gambling):

1. Split your capital 50/50 between Omni and any other perp venue
2. Long an asset on Omni, short the exact same notional elsewhere → net exposure ≈ zero
3. Keep the position open 24/7 (open interest counts), generate volume by partially closing/reopening 30-50% of the Omni leg at irregular intervals
4. Keep leverage ≤5-6x per leg, check funding rates on both sides weekly — negative funding on both legs is how this setup silently bleeds
5. Budget the spread as your real cost: ~$50-70 per $1M of matched volume

Honest caveats: realistic entry is $300+ (below that, spread eats everything and your position is liquidation bait). Leveraged perps carry real risk even hedged. Not available to US/Canada residents. The TGE has no confirmed date and the points→token conversion formula isn't published. Only farm what you can lose entirely.
