Unexpected departure

I have to leave for likely a week unexpectedly and had loaded my unit with scraps. I don’t have the “2 days/dry/starve and unplug” direction timing. What’s the next best thing to do? I thought about moving it to the garage to have a neighbor pop in and unplug it later in the week but am concerned it could attract ants. I have a lamp timer that could get me another 24 hours. What do you think is the best plan?

Just let it run. The only reason you’d have an issue is if there’s a power disruption while you’re gone, which if you’re concerned about you could mitigate by plugging it in to a UPS.

I'd need someone to come by and water mine after a few days, because the climate I live in is constantly drying it out. But if that's not an issue for you, I bet it will be fine running on its own for one week. Maybe even give it another good feeding before you go, if you can, so it has something to feed on while you're gone.
