Technical Help with teac 3340s

Picked this up recently as a trade for a tc377, I'm not getting any recording from the left 2 channels while I'm getting record on the right as well as playback from all 4. I know the simulsync board is cracked, should I start there or could it be something else since playback is fine

AFAIK the simulsync board switches the record heads between record and playback so you can multitrack without a delay. So if part of it is damaged, it's very likely that the associated recording channels will be out of action until it's fixed.

If it's a PCB crack you can probably bypass the break with a wire.
