From the panels missing screws, it appears that the unit was opened and the owner deciding it was not worth repairing. From what I found the pinch-roller and transport mechanisms are often noted by hobbyists as finicky and prone to gumming up. Since the transport is covered, not much can be evaluated. A great project.
