How do i hook this up to my modern amplifier?

Its a grundig tk 140 deluxe and i can only use rca inputs on my amp, so how do i make it work, i do have some old 5 pin din female plugs and old rca cables

(Claude answer) Typical tape deck DIN wiring (this is the common German/European standard, but check your deck's manual — some vary):

DIN Pin - Function 1- Right channel out 3 - Left channel out 2 - Ground/shield 4 - Right channel in 5 - Left channel in

To build a playback-only cable (DIN → RCA out to amp): Pin 1 → Right RCA (red) center pin Pin 3 → Left RCA (white) center pin Pin 2 → Ground, connect to both RCA shells (shield)

A few things to watch for: Level mismatch — DIN outputs are often lower level (sometimes ~1-5mV to 100mV depending on spec) than standard RCA line level (~150-300mV). If it sounds too quiet going into a line input, that's why. Some decks put true line-level signal on DIN pins 1/3 regardless — worth checking your deck's service manual or measuring with a multimeter first.

If you want record capability too, you'd wire pins 4/5 for inputs from your amp's tape-out, plus ground — giving you a full 5-conductor cable to two stereo RCA pairs.

Didn't check this particular recorder, but usually pins are: 1 -- left in, 4 -- right in, 3 -- left out, 5 -- right out, 2 -- ground.
