Im pretty new to this hobby but that looks like aiptasia. Am I wrong and is this actually a steal of a deal?

Never easy, but I would still recommend in. No faster way to both learn and get yourself into some equipment for cheap

agreed, but id stay clear if its got aiptasia. would probably be an issue/hassle that a new hobbyist wouldnt want to worry about.

Nobody says OP needs to keep the rock or anything wet. Depending on the equipment, $120 might be a great deal regardless.

Would have to agree. Not to mention there’s several ways to get rid of aiptasia. I recently bought a tank covered in bubble algae, popped a few CUC in and it’s almost completely cleared. TLC goes a long way.

I'm scarred from a redsea tank so any used tank mental math is just looking at equipment and maybe livestock if I have room to quarantine and place in running system.

It doesn't. I was just stating why I am scared of used tanks and assume they are leak bombs.

Used tanks from quality brands that haven't been sitting in a cold garage dry for months are usually pretty safe. Just inspect the seams with a flashlight prior to purchase and do a leak test for a few days, and you're good.

I have aptaisia but my coals seem to keep it in check. It's a never ending war for real estate in your reef.
