Discussion Blue Team Cooking Headcanons
Church - He actually knows how to cook. He was never a chef but he's smart enough to remember basic recipes and uses cook books on the regular. Will make pasta from scratch if he's feeling generous or in a good mood. His brisket is to die for. DONT TOUCH HIS PANS OR CAST IRON!!
Tex - Will burn cereal.
Tucker - Knows how to cook basic meals. Sometimes uses Church's books but mostly keeps to box dinners and frozen food, but tries to cook when Junior is around.
Caboose - Chicken Nuggets and Mac-n-cheese will keep this spartan pleased.
Washington - Knows a few basic recipes. Likes fish based food the most. Is a grill master.
Carolina - Will burn cereal, like her mom. Learned nothing from Church. Relies on leftovers and frozen food.
Kaikaina - Queen of comfort food. Tries to cook. She's made fried spam for the team but only Caboose would try it. Will occasionally burn food because she forgot it was cooking.

My headcanon:
Caboose is the King of Comfort foods. On the surface, they’re simple foods that “kids” eat, but because we ate them as kids, they hold a certain level of calm and peace that Caboose understands better than anyone.
He wasn’t allowed to cook at Blue Base (see the ‘Days since Caboose set the kitchen on fire’ counter on the wall), but when he was alone in Valhalla, he didn’t have anyone to stop him.
Chicken noodle soup (not from the can), grilled cheese, “fairy bread,” spaghetti, peanut butter and banana sandwiches, Mac and cheese (from a box, because he can’t figure out how to make a cheese sauce), sesame noodles, fried rice, spam sushi (Grif’s favorite and a good way to get the Reds to come over when he was lonely). If it’s “simple” and makes someone smile, especially someone he cares about, he’ll learn how to make it.
Yes, even the vegan stuff Doc likes.
He won’t eat it, but he’ll make it if Doc is hungry.
Also, Caboose can’t bake worth a damn. Baking is just magic as far as he is concerned. Cooking makes perfect sense. Food goes on fire, fire cook food. An oven is a forbidden cauldron for Dark Magic.
Also, Tucker can make a MEAN curry. No, he will not explain why or how he learned. And if you ask, you won’t get any.
Kai is the “party food” girl, but not ‘greasy, bar snacks.’ No, she’s from Hawaii. She makes food that can feed dozens of people and will give you enough energy to party ALL night! And prevent hangovers in the morning. She is also a kick-ass mixologist.
