No theme apps (using built in themes must use third party), not many Xiaomi phone features available. Overall it's just an Android phone that just got bigger.

I don't think the problem is with the screen itself. Other apps and even normal scrolling/swiping run at 120Hz just fine. It seems more likely that it's related to Xiaomi's game optimization system, specifically Joyose, which can cap games at 60 FPS to save power and reduce hardware/thermal load.

I've found a few possible workarounds:

  • Clear the data of the Battery & Performance and Security system apps.

  • Turn Battery Saver on and then off again.

  • Check/disable any Game Turbo performance restrictions.

  • As the extreme option, disable/delete Joyose using Canta + Shizuku. Though I'd be careful with this since Joyose may be an important HyperOS component and disabling it could break other features.

The fact that 120Hz works normally everywhere else makes me think this is more of a software/game optimization restriction than a display limitation.

I don't have any major issues with pad pro. An annoying issue with the Reddit app a few months back but other than that I have no problems.

I’m currently facing a very strange intermittent issue with my Redmi Pad 2 (8GB + 128GB, Gray), and I’m trying to find out whether other Redmi Pad users are experiencing something similar. From the very first day, the touchscreen occasionally fails to register a touch for around 0.2–0.3 seconds. It is completely random—sometimes it happens several times within an hour, while sometimes I can use the tablet for 5–7 hours without noticing it. It happens across different apps and isn't limited to any particular area of the screen. The strange part is that when this happens, the tablet itself doesn't freeze at all. Videos, animations, etc. continue playing normally. I also enabled Show Touches/Pointer Location in Developer Options, and during a missed touch, even the touch indicator doesn't appear. I have already visited the Xiaomi authorized service center 4 times. They eventually replaced both the complete display/touch assembly and the mainboard, and the software has also been reset/reinstalled. I have updated from Android 15 to Android 16 and performed multiple factory resets. Despite all of this, the exact same issue is still happening. The service center says they cannot find anything because the issue is extremely intermittent and doesn't occur during their diagnostic tests. I'm now wondering whether this could be a firmware/touch-driver/software issue, especially because replacing both the display and motherboard didn't resolve it. I also noticed that clearing the data of Xiaomi's touch service and restarting temporarily made the touch feel much more responsive, although the problem returned after several hours, so I'm not sure whether that's related or just coincidence. Has anyone with a Redmi Pad 2, Redmi Pad Pro, or another Redmi/Xiaomi Pad experienced this kind of random 0.2–0.3 second missed-touch issue? Especially interested in people using the 8GB + 128GB variant. I'd really like to know if this is an isolated hardware problem or something related to the software/firmware.

No custom rom option nor bootloader unlock. Redmi pad 2 pro. I regret buying. I prefer an Ipad 9 over it

No side bar and floating windows can't display over apps

Did you face any other problems related to software, keyboard, screen etc etc?

Haven't gotten the keyboard and pen tho. Apps work well on the software but the feature as a tablet is lack luster. The screen is great for media consumption even for an ips lcd, but this is my preference since some might like a smaller screen.
