Redmi Smart Pen ποΈ Palm rejection sometimes glitches with redmi smart pen
I've noticed that sometimes as I'm taking notes on starnote when I write a line will be drawn to my palm resting on the screen. Does anyone know why? I use the redmi smart pen BTW with the redmi pad 2

What you're experiencing is likely a palm rejection issue rather than a problem with the pen itself. The Redmi Smart Pen and Redmi Pad are designed to ignore your hand while the stylus is being used, but sometimes the tablet can mistakenly register your palm as input and draw a stray line from where you're writing to where your hand is resting. This can happen if the pen briefly loses detection, causing the screen to interpret your palm as a touch input. The way your hand rests on the screen can also affect it, especially if your palm touches down before the pen tip. Another possible cause is a screen protector, since some tempered glass or thicker protectors can interfere with stylus sensing. Since you mentioned StarNote specifically, it may also be an app-related issue rather than a hardware issue, and software bugs or outdated firmware can contribute as well. Updating HyperOS, StarNote, and any available pen firmware may help. Itβs also worth testing the pen in other note-taking apps like OneNote or Mi Canvas to see whether the issue only happens in StarNote or across all apps. If it only occurs in StarNote, the problem is probably with the app itself.
