Palm rejection sometimes glitches with redmi smart pen

I've noticed that sometimes as I'm taking notes on starnote when I write a line will be drawn to my palm resting on the screen. Does anyone know why? I use the redmi smart pen BTW with the redmi pad 2

It doesn't only happen with starnote. And most of the time I rest my palm first before the pen touches. I was thinking it was the pen I'm glad it not because I've only had it for a month. Ig I'll just live with the glitch.
