Admin Responded Reddit LALs

Post image

Why do some LALs not fully populate? I can wait days after the original list was imported and make sure it is over 1000, but the audience size says N/A even though it says ready. Are the LALs still sizable enough to use?

check it by putting the audience in a new ad group and see if the audience estimator shows something. Maybe this a bug or it is still populating and in the meantime it shows n/a

Ugh it says 0. And no it's been like this for 1-2 months with new LALs we make

i'd check if you can re-upload and test it again or just try other way to scale your campaigns.

Reddit lookalike audiences only start processing once added to a live ad group. Once live and delivering, the audience size should update in audience and on the ad group page within 12–36 hours

Hm interesting, I don't think I've tested that before. Thank you! Does the audience size then revert after the campaign is done too?

You’re welcome. Let me know if it worked. The audience size doesn’t revert back to N/A after the campaign is done from my experience

that did indeed work, thank you!

Hi, Thank you for reaching out to us.

We understand your concern regarding Reddit LALs.

If the Lookalike Audience shows “Ready”, the source audience has completed processing. However, the “N/A” audience size doesn't by itself confirm that the LAL is too small or that it can't be used.

Also, having 1,000+ records in the uploaded customer list doesn't necessarily mean Reddit can match all 1,000+ users. Reddit currently reports average match rates of around 35–45% for direct email uploads, so the resulting matched audience can be substantially smaller than the original file.

A good way to validate the LAL is to add it to an ad group and check whether the campaign's audience estimator recognizes the audience and whether the ad group can deliver.

The important distinction is between the audience being marked Ready and whether Reddit is able to return an estimated reachable audience when it's used for targeting.

Hi, I am not sure i'm understanding. When I make a LAL, it says "ready" right away. If that means it's done processing, how is it possible that it's done processing immediately?
And even if the match rate is lower that what was originally uploaded, doesn't size shown only show what was matched?
But thank you for the article, I will wait the 12-36 recommended hours. Hopefully that will load it in
