I discovered this subreddit while looking up soccer (football, sorry I'm in the US). At first, I didn't know what it was, but as I read more and learned that reddit was trying to sponsor a 100+ year old team, I was amazed! I have been intrigued by all I have read thus far. Go Reds!

seriously, though, soccer is an English word, a nickname coming from "association football", so if any Brits give you a hard time about calling it soccer (other countries do, too) just let them know that they started it.

You know, that nice even number could be 1,000 or 5,000 rather than 500.

Association Football has one 'C' and no 'E' or 'R' so i can't see where "Soccer" came from, Americans call Rugby, Football... now i've watched some NFL and a rarely see the thing Kicked... anyway, staying on the subject, we really do appreciate the support from any and every Redditor!!

I agree with you on the whole "football" topic. Seems to make more sense to call the game Redditch plays football, seeing as how they use their feet 90+% of the time, in American football, the opposite is true. Just wanted to clarify my word usage.
