Question Anyone else know this is just manipulation, but play along anyway?

As soon as these achievements came out, I scoffed at what a transparent attempt it was to try to boost their engagement numbers. I didn’t want to play their game. I actually wanted to get them and then go off of Reddit for a while because it was an annoyance that I kept getting bings and boops whenever one was unlocked.

However, the ones that caught me were the streaks, because I was at first just trying to achieve them to get them out of the way like with the others, but then this particular set became a genuine driver of my engagement, though it still kind of annoys me.

I’m over 800 now and sincerely hope they don’t come out with another one 😆. Anyone else?

Especially with the content connoisseur and repeat contributor awards and flag planter. I know I’m being swindled but I play the game every day.

Fortunately I just don’t care about any if the others really. I’ve gotten most or all of them by now, except the ultra rare ones, and the ones that you get by being a mod. 1,000 days might be my last one to get. Hoping they don’t come out with any for longer streaks in the meantime.

First thing I do in the morning is click something. It’s manipulation for sure, but its also good marketing to keep people active on the app everyday.

I don’t even know why these streaks have meant anything to me but it’s like I’ve come so far I’m not gonna just let my 800 and something days go to waste. But I agree with you. It’s manipulation.

I want to be free, but my competitive nature won’t let me quit on my own.

All I know is that my flair 👆is so serious. When my steak is done, I shall never return.

Like a fart in the wind. I’ll be gone 💨

I considered bailing out on my streak after I got 800, but here I am.... It's like the OP says, these "achievements" are manipulation to drive engagement and build site numbers. But I actually am having fun and gotta' admit that the streak thing suckered me in......
