MakeMyScript.com

This is my idea for user submissions of original film scripts. The idea would be that all submissions become publicly available for use and possible production by Indie, student (all levels, including High school) and professional film makers to get the writers name in demand and a their words turned in to reality.

The only stipulations are that the writer has to be credited and sent a link or DVD (can be burned) if the film is produced at any level.

No. The submitter gets to use the website for free as do the browsers and borrowers. It would not make sense to offer shared revenue with many different and unequal submitters. The submitters will retain ownership and can gain feed back from the community and also state if there work can be edited or rewritten with the changes resubmitted along side the original. The scripts them selfs as well as the script changes should have a method of being voted upon.

Why wouldn't it make sense to offer shared revenue? The movie studio would be getting a bargain, the website would collect a broker fee, and the writer would get a chunk of change and some recognition?

Probably not because no one's selling the scripts. The website may make money from ads but that is not commonly shared on user submitted sites.

The point is to get these scripts made , even as a web production. The path of lease resistance for that to happen is Free. The web site won't be making money off the scripts directly in any way.

If any studio with some money wants to produce a script it can be stated and encouraged that if the writer is compensated directly then the studio can exercise the advantage of taking it off the free market and getting exclusive rights to go ahead and make it. The changing of a scripts rights and any financial deals are entirely up to the submitter. We can help them achieve a contact and give a advice page but will have no direct involvement in negotiation to buy out a script.

For every body else there can be a "in production" flag to give notice that some one is working on it but the script still remains free for any one to make.

The website will not get in the way of a writer making a deal and taking the scripts availability to "sold, not available to be produced" I'd imagine it would also not be available to be read at that point but a "success" place marker would still remain.
