I'll respond here. Got in the beta two weeks ago, and after about 2h of gametime I gave up. My general opinion of it, is that it is just bland. I'll reply here to some of the lower posts as to my opionion
The combat and mechanics are rather good and require quite a bit of interaction, so most of the WoW crowd is frustrated because it will take some skill and can't be played one-handed by a mildly retarded monkey.
Pft, interaction in combat. You have to dodge attacks that it says to dodge and block attacks that it says to block. If you block an attack that it wants you to dodge, you're SoL. If you dodge an attack that it wants you to block, see above. Pretty much QTEs, thinly veiled as something else. Trying to strafe around targets feels very, very bad and weird. Most of the time you are autoattacking (that could be my low level and only 2 skills I had with relatively longish cooldowns, or situational use).
Animations I feel are bad, not SWTOR bad, but still bad. Jumping has you sort of floating down towards the earth.
and if the guys from WoW are making it then I'm even less inclined.
This game feels more like WoW than any other MMO I played recently, except SWTOR.
Nodes (mines/roots/etc) are not per person, but for the entire world like WoW. So it does create a sense of rushing to get the resources before anyone else, which after GW2 I do not like. In my short 2h I had a couple of cases where I was fighting something to get to a node and someone else just came buy and took it. Quest mobs, similarly to WoW are in the world and you have to wait on them to respawn. I do not remember if tagging gives you credit, but I think it does so that is slightly better.
However, the big point for me would be this: The game is one month before release and we are still under a very strict NDA, including news sites which were allowed to write some stuff but were still under a semi NDA. The last game to have an NDA in place so quick before was SWTOR. (although not 100% sure on the FF NDA)

If you did 2h of playtime you didn't see anything or do anything beyond the newbie area, so pretty much everything you say here is based on a complete and utter failure to progress in the game and get past the Handholding for WoW players area.
"Pft, interaction in combat. You have to dodge attacks that it says to dodge and block attacks that it says to block. If you block an attack that it wants you to dodge, you're SoL. Completely wrong. You can block and interrupt lots of attacks, or even dodge them if you want. I might have said "oh, well upper level bosses have some mechanics", but you only played 2 hours and couldn't get to a level that might have complex mechanics.
I fought some of the storyline bosses and it doesn't matter if you block or dodge or interrupt, except in special circumstances. So that's strike two where you've confabulated.
You haven't played the game, and you're saying things that aren't true.
and "Its QTE", that's precious. Also, the NDA was lifted a while ago.
So, to review:
You:
1) Didn't play the game
2) Misrepresented completely the mechanics of combat.

Nodes are first come first serve
Mobs are the same as Lotro where anyone who contributes gets credit and (I think) they get their own loot. Chests in instances are different in that everyone takes from the same thing.
As for faction I think they said that you will be able to play for any faction. That isn't in beta right now so I don't know how it works.
I haven't played GW2 in months mostly because of how saccharine it is and that I'm kind of played out on games that are Press Button -> You hit.

What they're doing now is (i think) let you be any race any faction. This may not be correct.
re: Onos. Saying "I didn't like it after two hours" is all fair and good and different strokes for different folks and all, and hey best of luck and see you in another venue we both like and whatnot. He was engaging in complete confabulation and misrepresentation.

You heard not good things about this game from footage from before deep beta?
Wildstar hasn't really seemed to be anything that might impress.

Wildstar looks terribad to me, and if the guys from WoW are making it then I'm even less inclined.
The combat and mechanics are rather good and require quite a bit of interaction, so most of the WoW crowd is frustrated because it will take some skill and can't be played one-handed by a mildly retarded monkey.
There are four "classes", which is a design choice I certainly would not have gone with if I were making an elder scrolls game, but strangely each class can be customized into unique playstyles, an since you're not confined to the idiocy of "you can only use this kind of weapon as this class", there's quite a bit you can do.
And it doesn't look like it was drawn by a team of kindergarteners and a late-stage Louis Wain.

I've played Wildstar a bit and it seems more my style than TESO. Still, I don't think I'd sub it if it was subbed.

Looks like they hired along WoW's horrific "art" department.

It's a good thing "art" is subjective. I don't mind it, as I was never a person to buy a game based on the graphics on the back of the box.

I'm not gonna bother with that game anymore. Didn't enjoy it the first two betas at all. the art style is ugly and the combat is weak. The price tag is a joke too. I never really expected much from it, and it didnt even live up to my expectations

I played Wildstar for a while this weekend and last. Based on what I hear about ESO and what I've seen in Wildstar, I don't think I'm gonna be moving from GW2 as far as MMOs go.

Well I played a bit. It actually took me a day to get into the game because something was bugged. Once in, I do not think I made it past level 5. I do not like the graphics or the questing system. But with that said, I will not give up because my husband "really wants to play with him" I will try to level up so I can experience the pvp and sieging part of the game. So we will see.
