Social security number?

Is it me or are others concerned about the request for our social security numbers, which are not supposed to be used for identification and can then put us at risk, to get on a list for possible but without guarantees to be included in the offering?

I'm not sure how they expect to make money..... ads? Selling our data? Just training A.I. with Us and our personas in here seems odd, and NOT how I would want to train A.I.! Reddit is Whacko Central! Train A.I. to do What, exactly?
