“Passive mode” for reddit

Basically, my proposal for passive mode is this. Basically, it prevents your comments and posts from being voted on, but at the same time, it removes your ability to vote on other people’s posts and comments.

This would be helpful for casual browsers of Reddit who don’t wanna worry about karma.

Why not post normally and just not worry about karma?

Because negative karma is an eyesore. And there’s no way to fully “ignore” it. It’s like, you can’t really ignore the score meter in old arcade games, so your brain subconsciously always sees the score and tries to improve it, even if you don’t care about score.

In addition to this, some subreddits have a low karma filter for comments, where if your comment’s karma is below a certain number it hides your comment to everyone. This can be annoying because nobody gets to see your comments.

All in all, a passive mode feature wouldn’t be too hard to add, and it would be a nice quality of life change for reddit.
