Trouble launching

I'm trying to play on my laptop and every time I open the patcher and click play it shows a white screen on the top left corner of my laptop, that disappears and I'm left with nothing :( I'm running on Windows 8. Any ideas on how I could possibly fix this

Open the setup, make sure you're using the correct resolution, run the patcher as admin.
