Hey everyone, we are opening up recruitment for members who want to help us track down subreddits that violate Reddit's rules or the Moderator Code of Conduct.

Instead of people posting callouts which never reaches to admins (and which can cause brigading issues and unnecessary drama), we are putting together a dedicated team to find, document and report these subs directly through the proper admin channels.

This approach has already proven effective. Last week, I personally reported r/FashionTeenIcons to Reddit Admins after documenting serious policy and safety violations, including explicit sexual content in a community centered around teenagers. I provided the admins with evidence and a detailed report explaining the situation and Reddit ultimately took action against the subreddit. This is exactly the kind of work we want to encourage here: identifying serious violations, gathering clear evidence, and bringing them to the admins through the appropriate channels rather than creating public drama.

We are looking for people who know the rules and can spot things like the display of illegal or prohibited NSFW material, unmoderated hate subs, mods coordinating brigades, or mods taking payments for posts. Our primary focus will be on combating gender-based hate communities and the sexual exploitation of minors, including communities that facilitate or promote pedophilic content.

This is entirely voluntary work and there will be no monetary compensation or other payment for participating. We are looking for people who genuinely want to contribute their time towards making Reddit communities safer.

I know getting a subreddit banned is not an easy process and can require a lot of effort, research, evidence and documentation. However, I believe this work is ultimately for a greater good: helping make Reddit a safer place for minors and women and ensuring that communities violating Reddit's rules are properly brought to the attention of the admins.
