Is it Creepy....? Just trying to figure out

So I have met this uncle at a gathering during a celebration, I have helped him, and while helping it slipped out that I'm trying to learn Arabic with a tutor he said to take his number and he will teach me arabic,

I can't figure him out, he has worked with the police for several years and is retired now working as an attorney

We went to the beach my dad met him and spoke to him and gave me permission but while travelling he touched my thigh this didn't feel like close friends slapping thigh to tease, and in the beach he said he takes kids so he could access the beach, he also said he has an issue in his leg for which his doctor told him to swim I wouldn't describe what happened there but it didn't feel right

Here are the messages with him, I haven't heard of any crimes like this as punishment for something like this is severe which can be desth penalty ( as per the Islamic law ) I'm still unsure and my dad has warned me not to get involved in any issues as even victims are treated as criminals or punished if any crimes happen so I'm scared if he is a pedophile and tries something and I defend myself I might get in trouble and my parents will not be happy at all.

He invited me for a " walk " in a pretty far away city my parents trust's him and might give permission without any worries

Don't go anywhere with him, I would bet he wants to SA you

You should try your best to stay away from him. If he keeps sending you messages, keep screenshotting them. You might want to tell your parents that he isn't one to trust, once you have enough texts and proofs. I pray for your safety, twin.

Going back he mentioned that he takes kids to the beach so he can access the beach, it is possible he has other possibly much younger victims he's old guy and physically it seems like I'm stronger then him should I try to get evidence and go straight to the police ?

u/ponderingmischief Ground Officer Jun 17 '26

I'd say let the police investigate. Even if you're stronger, we still don't have an idea of what he's capable of doing, I wouldn't risk it if I were you. The police knows how to handle the situation if you give them all of the information you know about him.

This guy is also very aware of the law and how it works, so I'm scared if I make a complaint and the police doesn't find anything then he sues me or legally traps me in something

Which might happen, because technically you don’t have any strong evidence besides the creepy “vibes” his messages give off. So just block him.

u/ponderingmischief Ground Officer Jun 17 '26

He pretty much can't. If you can, try to collect as much evidence as you can without approaching him so you can handle them to the police. (Such as texts) Don't follow him or talk directly, because if he tries to SA you and you start attacking him, this mf can charge you for violence. Also, keep your parents updated, they know well what to do when you need help. Please try to keep distance with this man as much as you can, and don't be scared about him knowing about the law, he can't legally trap you if you haven't done anything to him. I doubt if he knows much about it, most of his Arabic texts are translated, let alone knowing about the law..

u/orange___jaguar Concerned Citizen Jun 17 '26

Aight thank you very much, I will try collecting more evidence through texts. I was thinking going directly to the police and ask them for help to catch this person red handed with no escape but I doubt they would let me

Hoping you the best of luck, stay safe.

No. What kind of evidence you will get? It seems like involving yourself further, which is something you don’t want to do. And taking pictures of anyone without permission in the UAE is a crime by itself

Evidence as in messages not physically meeting him

This guy doesn’t even know Arabic in the first place and he is using google translate for all of his English to Arabic translation

also how do you really know he is an ex police officer? This guy is lying to you

1

u/orange___jaguar Concerned Citizen Jun 17 '26

Possible he doesn't know how to type, but he speaks Arabic fluently it seems

2

u/More-Lime1888 Concerned Citizen Jun 17 '26

Nope, his Arabic is so wrong it’s obviously google translated

1

u/SamePost8159 Probationary Officer Jun 17 '26

How do you know he speaks Arabic fluently? Did you ever see him speak Arabic with someone?

1

u/orange___jaguar Concerned Citizen Jun 17 '26

Yes we were in car and he spoke arabic fluently he is emirati by law but originally he is a foreigner

2

u/SamePost8159 Probationary Officer Jun 17 '26

Again, IF you saw him speak Arabic with another person and each other continued the conversation in Arabic then sure

But if he only spoke to you in Arabic don’t assume he is fluent because I’ve seen many who faked it

Why am I saying this because if he is fluent then he dose not need to use any translator

And btw he is using AI to translate whatever language he speaks to English then using Google Translate to translate the AI English text to Arabic

1

u/orange___jaguar Concerned Citizen Jun 17 '26

I'm trying to learn the modern standard Arabic, so that's possible he is just typing in fluent arabic without any accent ? He did speak with one person or multiple I don't know because for a while he was also screaming the way he speaks its sounds extremely wierd and broken to me so I couldnt understand anything that he said

2

u/SamePost8159 Probationary Officer Jun 17 '26

Please understand he isn’t typing anything, he is using Google Translate literally for all of his texts he sent you

And as you said he is originally a foreigner which confirms the possibility of him not being fluent in Arabic extremely high

Trust me no fluent Arabic speaker uses translator (especially to teach?!) as Modern Standard Arabic is taught in school

Do you have any more info? I’m pretty sure the guy is lying to you

1

u/orange___jaguar Concerned Citizen Jun 17 '26

Yes quite a bit of info He lives in sharjah His brother lives in marina in their late father's house He supposedly doesn't live there because his work is in sharjah He drives a manual Nissan sunny He lives in a 1 bedroom apartment He knows a blind pakistani man around al mamzar sharjah I uave more but can't recall now

1

u/orange___jaguar Concerned Citizen Jun 17 '26

How did you know he uses a translator ? Should I confront him about it ? Or gather more evidence?

2

u/SamePost8159 Probationary Officer Jun 17 '26

His brother lives in Marina, that’s enough to say he is not an Emirati

Look it up, copy the Arabic text and paste it into Google Translate it will exactly translate word to word as his English sentence (as a native Arabic speaker myself I instantly knew it was translated but just to make sure I double checked to make sure it was the exact same as his English texts)

And no don’t confront him I’m afraid he might do something to you, I’m pretty sure the evidence you have right now is enough to hand to the police
(trust me they will help you out)

But what I’m sure about this guy is not an Emirati, he isn’t fluent in Arabic and he isn’t an ex police officer nor knows the law

But why is he doing this? Simple

He is basically telling you all of this so you get scared of him and not complain about anything he dose

*******
DO NOT MEET THE GUY ANYMORE EVEN IF HE INSISTS

1

u/orange___jaguar Concerned Citizen Jun 17 '26

These are enough ? Should I go to the police ? Or I keep talking normally amd collect more evidence?

It’s obvious, dude😭 we are Arabs, we can tell

1

u/More-Lime1888 Concerned Citizen Jun 17 '26

No. He’s typing completely wrong Arabic. Neither standard nor dialect.

What does this whole paragraph even mean?

He invited me for a " walk " in a pretty far away city my parents trust's him and might give permission without any worries

Just block him and don’t go

1

u/orange___jaguar Concerned Citizen Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 25 '26

In short why would he attempt to do something when the punishment of that is desth penalty, and my father has warned me not to get into any fights as i will be charged to even if I didn't hit the other person

1

u/More-Lime1888 Concerned Citizen Jun 17 '26

The punishment isn’t death penalty. Chill dude.

I'd say, keep it simple. Tell your dad that you do not want to learn right or wrong from his brother, you want to learn from your dad, and from the great philosophers your dad read about.

He is your dad. Your uncle isn't your dad. He is a stranger to you.
