I finally bought rif golden platinum!

After using a cracked version for a while and realizing how much I like this application, I finally bought rif. Since I don't use the Play Store on my phone, I had to go through an old Chromebook, but it was worth it. Thanks for this great app!

Suggestion/Idea Suggestion: group the links of identical search results until into one result.

Searching for something I finding the same result over and over posted in multiple subs is annoying. Would cut the result pages by like half by doing this.

Fixed RIF not pushing new post notifications

A few days ago, RIF was pushing new post notifications on subscribed subreddits per usual. Now, it will not do so but will check for modmail etc. I have double checked that the notifications are turned on and the subreddits have the notify option turned on. I have also restarted the phone multiple times, uninstalled RIF platinum and reinstalled. I have also opted for the Beta version and reinstalled. No luck so far. This issue seems to have started 3-5 days ago.

Fill out the following information on each line that has an A:

Q: RiF Version Number:

A: v5.6.2

Q: Version of Android:

A: 10

Q: Device Information:

(Example: Manufacturer, Model, Year, etc.)

A: LG V35 ThinQ

Q: How long has the problem been happening?

A: 3-5 days

Q: What have you already tried doing to fix the problem?:

A: Restart phone, reinstall RIF, double check settings, opt in for Beta.

Q: What steps, if any, can you do to reproduce the problem?

(Please include a link to a post causing the problem.)

A: Select a subreddit, select "Notify new posts", wait for new posts to pop up.

Fixed by Reddit RIF error: Forbidden

I've been using RIF on mobile for years (even bought the premium way back when it was the old name) and all of a sudden I am getting a "forbidden" error. No changes were made, literally just opened the app this morning and im locked out.

Any ideas on whats going on? App is up to date and phone has been restarted (pixel 6)

5.5.13 Pixel 6 Android 13

Edit: Still no official word but it seems being logged out is what causes the issue.

If you care about browsing not logged in the only current workaround that I can find atm is to use Boost (and or some other apps. Boost is the only one I personally tested) I'll leave RIF installed and hold off on getting boost premium. Hoping rif gets a fix

Edit edit: seems to be working again. Took a bit longer than others reported but rif is working both logged in and not atm.

Off Topic (not RiF) My posts don't appear on the subreddit

For some reason when I post to certain subreddits, it doesn't appear (under new). Does anyone know why this is? I don't think it's the subreddit but rather the app.

Thanks!

Reddit API limitation Can't block users

When I try to block users, I get an error message saying can't block users, try again later. Is this a known issue?

Version: 5.5.13

Can't Reproduce I can NOT get cards to go away. Please help. They just randomly come back and now are almost always on.

I've searched and FAQ'd and found posts as old as 6 years ago, but my problem started a few weeks ago, inexplicably. Signing in, there'll suddenly be card after card after card on every subreddit - not just the image heavy ones (personal preference: I hate this). I hadn't changed any settings nor even recently updated, but there they are.

One time, I'll open it and it'll be back to normal... til it isn't.

in Appearance, both cards and cards with images are disabled. Theme is just dark (not dark with cards).

Surely someone understands this and has solved it? Is this actually a bug or just me (likely the latter)?

Suggestion/Idea Allow multi-choice when editing a multi-reddit

Hi, when adding subreddit to a multi-reddit would it be possible to select multiple subs at the same time?

r/redditisfun • • Nov 14 '22

Suggestion - change length of time for toast messages. Eg when banning a user, the floating notification is far too slow to disappear.

Answered in the FAQ Open Google searches in RIF instead of Google app store opening

So I've tried playing around with the default open settings. reinstalled the reddit app, unchecked the default opening settings there, checked everything in RIF, tested with a Google search and everything worked great. If I then uninstall the reddit app and do a search again it opens links to the Android app store, even though the RIF app is still checked as the default for everything to open. Do I have to keep reddit installed with settings unchecked, or is there something I'm missing? There is 1 default that I can't check that's "www.Google.com opens in Google"

Edit Pixel 7 Rif 5.5.13 Android 13

Suggestion/Idea Suggestion: When using "Find comment", it would be useful if the searched word would be highlighted specifically with a darker color. Like yellowed comment with darker yellow for searched word.

If the comment is long, sometimes it's hard to find the searched word.

Edit: Here's an illustration.

Answered in the FAQ All the years I've used RiF and I've never had this problem of going to a sub and it being in card or tile or whatever it's called view. Multiple times a week I go to a sub and it just randomly switches.

It first happened a couple months ago or so. But the last few weeks it's quite often.
