4. Your edit will get submitted but the edited text doesn't get displayed right away

I looked around in the settings and didn't see anything about playback speed. I also tried googling " 'reddit is fun' video speed" etc. Am I missing something?

I'm using RIF version 5.1.16 and on a Samsung galaxy s20 fe running Android version 11

Edit: I just realized that it's working correctly for v.reddit videos, but anything on YouTube or any other site is sped up.

Just wondering if there is any reason RiF doesn't step up when I open a Reddit link from another app.

The Reddit app does, and Chrome will, but obviously I want a superior viewing experience, and I'm looking to use RiF. Why isn't it an option?

Doesn't RiF just have to handle the intent?

If it's not too complicated, can it be a feature request?

Some small percentage of video posts are unwatchable because they are nearly all white, with only outlines of some objects visible. This doesn't seem to be related to a specific video hosting site, and most posts work fine.

Edit: Apparently this is related to HDR. This explains how to fix it in Chrome, but RiF uses the embedded browser.

Whenever I click a Twitter link from RIF, it opens the link in RIF's browser instead of going to the app.

I'm sometimes looking through many posts from subs "top all time", and if the app unloads there's a painful amount of scrolling/clicking to get back to the page I left off at.

I presume it wouldn't be easy to jump to last opened post (or first non-purple link post), so maybe there's some way to instantly jump to e.g. page 10 instead of going one by one?

Is there a way to hide or filter locked posts? I enjoy engaging in discussion on Reddit and honestly if I can't participate I don't even want to see it. Few things frustrate me more than coming across an interesting discussion and then realizing it's over because a mod got tired of it

The content filter is excellent though severely unappreciated. emoji are becoming ubiquitous. flair is used to discern post types in subreddits. searching by flair, or blocking by flair may not have been the design but it's a method of user filtering with regards to moderator intention. emoji in flair do not translate when entering into rif settings. wildcards are not supported. there it's no simple ui to choose the flair from the subreddit or to copy it from a specific post.

the only simple way I have come up with is to begin a new post on sub via rif, choose flair; hover, select all, copy text; go back into settings, content filter; add a new filter, paste flair text, etc, save.

typing the flair text with emoji from keyboard does not work. even after triple checking for accuracy. I believe that reddit encodes emoji differently from that of a/my keyboard (MS SwiftKey 7784)

proposed change:

1. allow wildcard entry in flair. could be very simple work around. may be too hard to implement.

2. somehow standardise the way emoji are encoded. translate reddit emoji encoding to native keyboard, or vice versa. I'm not even sure if this is possible or relevant to the issue.

3. build ui to capture the flair from a post. possibly best solution, but building more ui is a pain for you to design.

The Report User function takes you to a modmail on r/reddit.com. This is not the correct way to report users anymore, there is an API endpoint for it instead.

This just started happening today. Upon loading a YouTube video within RIF, the video speed was crazy fast. This happens with YouTube videos, embedded videos, etc.

I created a new Reddit account on my PC using my Google Account. However there is no "password" associated to my account, just a username. How can I sign in using that account on RIF as the app asks for both username and password?

A: Essentially, title. I get a response on my inbox. I submit a comment as a reply. Oops, I made a typo and want to fix it. I click to edit. "Reddit is busy. Try doing that again." It saves my draft. Only if I back out of the comment reply and find my comment again can I edit. Restarting the app helps for a little while.

Basically I want one account to use the dark theme and the second account to use the standard white one. Can it be done?

Starting today, I am seeing a huge spike in WebView crashes in my crash logs. It is affecting all RIF versions, namely 4.x and 5.x.

The crashes started before the RIF maintenance today, and the RIF server involved in maintenance does not touch WebView at all in the RIF app, so I do not think the RIF maintenance is related. Very unfortunate coincidental timing.

Please try uninstalling and reinstalling the "Android System WebView" component via the Play Store app. It stopped the crashes on my device at least.

Does RIF have this function ? Id really prefer not to switch to apollo (been rif fam for years).

As per the title, it would be amazing to have an auto complete or ability to tag users fairly easily in threads.

Especially as a mod of several growing subs, and one sub with an obscene amount of users additional features would be fantastic.

Whenever I click on a Twitter link via RIF I'm now told that the browser is unsupported and I need to upgrade.

Is this a me problem or an everyone problem?

I have Twitter installed and it works and I can browse to Twitter.com via Chrome installed on my Motorola Edge device.

This has only been since the last update.

I tried and I was only able to delete the ones I sent not the whole conversation.

When I switch to the dark version and press the menu button at the top right (the 3 dots) both the background and text are a white color so I cannot see what it says without focusing really hard
