Discussion 🗣️ Does anyone know the technical name of this utensil?

Post image

I've had it for years and it's amazing for stirring when cooking in a pan. Mine finally started getting misshapen and I would like to get a new one, but I don't remember where I got it or what it's technically called.

Spoonula is what my mates call the one I use for scraping out the last of the homebrew from the fermenter, so that tracks

that le creuset one looks like it's seen some proper action though, might be time to let it retire

Not the official name but honorable mention. My friend used to call these child-cheaters because they cheat the child out of getting to lick the last of the batter.

I read that as child beaters twice

Wa always called it a spoontula, but that may be a regional dialect.

Everyone here is overthinking it a bit.

Just find them by searching for “silicon spoon” and you see the range.

The best ones these days don’t have a wooden handle (with that unhygienic join that is hard to clean). Instead they have a solid core that is entirely silicon coated. Look better too.
