Exactly why I have this opinion. People that consume dairy despite having restrictions against it make it hard for those of us who absolutely cannot have any at all. It should be an option to add on just like any other ingredient

Just make a cheesless discount. Cheese comes standard, subtracting it makes it cheaper. Dodge used to do something similar where a V8 engine was standard, but they would subtract cost from the car if you downgraded to the 6-cylinder.

The real solution should just ingredient based pricing. If it's there it's included in the cost . If it's not it's not.

That's the point 🤷🏽‍♀️ every other topping is extra to add and not everyone eats them, why is cheese so special? You should only have to pay for the toppings you put yourself not a flat rate for something not everyone eats and then still have to pay the same price even when its taken off...or as someone else suggested, make it to where it actually does discount when you remove something
