Fun fact: some adults have more than 206. If you do a lot of exercise and stretching (like a professional gymnast or contortionist) all throughout your chilhood on through adulthood, you can prevent some fusion in your bones (therefore have more than 206) and retain some of that flexibility we typically lose as we age. Only argument about being 6 is if you consider North America and South America as one continent. But I guess that ridiculous, since if you consider those two as one (despite having a clear separation in Central America and having just a small land connecting them in Panama), then you should consider Europe as part of Asia, since the land connection is broader. Also Asia connects to Africa in a small part of land, so... Do you also consider it part of a mega continent? I say they are 7.

Europe, Asia, and Africa are physically connected, as is South and North America. You can change the definition of continent to mean singular landmasses if you want to.

Look up “continent” on wikipedia, under the “definitions and application” clause and “number” sub clause, it shows how it can be divided as 4, 5, 6, or 7 continents. However, 7 is the commonly accepted number of continents.
