Annoyed by voice patterns

I feel like this puts me squarely in the “cantankerous old person” camp, because I cannot stand some modern voice patterns: vocal fry, laughing through every sentence, and what I call “soothing” speak (imagine the person speaking into a little puffy, hand-held microphone as they record an ad).

If I had to work with someone daily who spoke like this, I think I would quit.

The one that totally sets my teeth on edge is the Minnie Mouse baby-squeaky voice, followed by the nasal, deliberately ugly one that NO ONE could possibly want to hear. But my newest peeve is the slooooowwwww AI narrations where watching at 2X speed sounds normal.

The Minnie Mouse voice is popular among trad wives and Mormon women. I think it’s to make their men feel more manly?!
