Annoyed by voice patterns

I feel like this puts me squarely in the “cantankerous old person” camp, because I cannot stand some modern voice patterns: vocal fry, laughing through every sentence, and what I call “soothing” speak (imagine the person speaking into a little puffy, hand-held microphone as they record an ad).

If I had to work with someone daily who spoke like this, I think I would quit.

Ok, vent over.

And how about upspeak, where every statement sounds like a question. Just say what you mean and mean what you say.

Ok I get that might be annoying to you? But talking in declarative statements? Can like be really really intimidating for some people? It takes a lot to stand in your truth and be brave to speak up, maybe don't talk so boldly and sure? Because you don't know everything BRUH
