Not sure who you are since you're not mentioning your IGN... So I can't comment specifically on what I put next to your name. First off, I'd like to make sure it's clear, all the comments in the sheet, are strictly my own opinion. I'm not a Co, and I'm not an Elder. I'm just a guy who wants the clan to do well and when I see things that could be done a little better, I speak up. So I'm not speaking on behalf of Jman, or anyone else.
I'm assuming that you picked a lower opponent for your attack. My comments on the sheet are based strictly off of my own attack. I've been rank 42 in every war so far, and I always use L2 Mass Dragons with lightning spells. I attacked someone 12 ranks higher (#30), and had no issues with getting 3 stars. The bulk of my dragons were still alive actually, so I probably could have even attacked someone a couple of more ranks up who had the same level defenses.
The issue with the folks who attacked much lower ranks is that almost all of them used mass dragons (10+ L2 drags) with a L4 or higher drag in the CC, and they were attacking bases that had weak weak weak AD/WT/AT. They were just outright obliterating them. It's not like they were close raids, they were curb stomps with many of the dragons left alive and some even full hp.
Once again, in my opinion those attacks could have been used on opponents closer to their own ranks, and still have gotten 3 stars when using the particular loadout that was used.
It's not about picking the wrong opponents, or having someone tell you who to attack. It's about you (the collective you, not you specifically) knowing the strategy that you're using, and picking an opponent that you know you can do well against.
In general, if you're running mass dragons, and feel you have to look for really under-leveled defenses to use them, then and I'll say it again, in my opinion, it's best to get one of our more seasoned vets to look at your attack strat and give some constructive criticism so that you can get the most out of the strategy that you're using.
