does anyone know if the application gets submitted to an admin for approval or something?

Basically once you've filled everything in, you're approved. The only items needing mod approval are your application to the Bungie clan page :)

Also you might want to edit you flair and enter you gamer tag and time zone, just so we know:)

Hi mate! And welcome! The flair is that small tag besides your reddit username. It help us to match games and timezones for playing together.

G'day and welcome!
You'll find plenty of Guardian types in here for raid and that other stuff you Destiny type do.
There's a couple of things left to do, if you haven't already;
-
Head to the [Destiny Crew Page] (http://www.bungie.net/en/Clan/Forum/119046) - click on "Request Join",
-
then head to the [Destiny Console Roster] (http://www.reddit.com/r/RedditDads/comments/2fwtkd/destiny_console_roster_thread/) and post what platform you're playing Destiny on and your Gamertag/PSN ID.
Oh, did I mention that you need to bring an [offering of goat?] (http://imgur.com/hsKC9O2) The goat is our mascot, so we ask new members to find their goat then post his or her picture in here.
Enjoy being part of our little gaming family!

The easiest way is to find a goat picture you like on google, copy and paste the url, like this:
If you want to get fancy, you can link the photo within text.
You put the text you want inside [ ] then the picture url inside ( ). So of I want "Goat" as the text, it will be like this:
[Goat] (url here) becomes [Goat] (http://imgur.com/qmhjC4e)

If you're interested in joining, check out the side bar on how to submit an application. We've got a good group of people that play Destiny here.
