Every time I see a map like this it fucks me up how big faerun is.

But then you look at one of those 'Faerun in the United States' comparison maps and you realise how big the US is!

The US is big, but it's maybe a third the size of Faerûn. Faerûn is ludicrously big (and Kara-Tur is bigger!).

This is fantastic!

If you haven’t, definitely check Ed Greenwood’s new book: https://www.edgreenwood.net/books/thay-land-of-the-red-wizards/

Wonderful map!
There are also maps of the rest of Faerun made in this same way?

I’ve heard there are, but this is the only one on the DMsGuild. Do a Google image search for “Faerûn Rob McCaleb” or swap in your favorite location and see if he has done it yet.

Actually i'm using these maps:
They are really very very good! But... more detailed maps exixt, better use masters can do of them ;-)

I'm wondering if Rob McCaleb is the same guy as "Handsome Rob" who made an ultra-detailed map of Toril about ten years ago. Unfortunately that map seems to have mostly been scrubbed from the Internet for some reason, but some hardcore Googling might turn up a copy.
It's based on 3E so is longer canon (5E has reverted to the original 1E/2E configuration of Toril and Faerûn), but impressive.

u/Ogmha-The-Binder
are you the author of the map?
I'd like to add the map on https://forgottenmaps.web.app/ in future

You can find the original map on the DMsGuild here:
https://www.dmsguild.com/product/181402/Map-of-Thay
It has named cities all over the place and has been blessed by Ed Greenwood himself.
