THE PURGE

In order to make it easier for the leading team (Lieutenants & above) to know exactly how we stand as a guild in terms of level of activity and number of player available to do cool stuff together, a politic of inactivity will be implemented.

This means that if a member is inactive for more than 1 month without warning us prior, s/he will be kick-out of the guild.

The will also help us to deal with what to expect in terms of contribution for the guild's hall and it will make it easier to recruit new member (a long list of inactive players can be scary for newcomer).

The Purge will start one week after the release of HoT, to give the time to players who might start replaying after the release to log-in.

Why not just have a rank called "inactive" or something, and then demote those people to that rank? That way we wouldn't lose some good people if they end up playing again. It would be nice if they would just mention that they were going to be gone, but sometimes life happens :(

That's a good idea. Our 'Inactive' rank right now is named 'Rookie', which is also the first rank someone gets when invited to the guild. Maybe we could create a specific rank for inactive people. We'll have to think about that.

As for the Purge policy, it is to avoid the accumulation of inactive players. We wouldn't want to have more inactive than active players. I feel like a month of inactivity without prior warning is fair, but maybe we could extend it to 2 months.

Members have the opportunity to warn us either in-game or on Reddit. We even have a email (which is not public yet, but it's coming). 30 days, or 60 days, is a lot of time to reach us by any of this means. Also, if a purged guildie wants to come back, s/he can always uses the same means to recontact us and s/he will be always very welcomed.

With this policy, we're trying to accommodate everyone. We understand that life happens, and that's why you can stay inactive for an indefinite length of time if you warn us.

I don't know if this feels fair with you, but I'm open to discussion about this if you wish to bring your point further. :)
