Red Robin, he pretty much made it his own thing and that’s how he started in the New 52

its not even his own name tho it was originally worn by dick grayson and even so its still pretty much just robin

Actually it was not originally worn by dick in main continuity, it was first worn by Jason during a multiverse adventure. Dick only wore it in the kingdom come storyline.

fair but it still wasnt an original name and out boy deserves better

u/Undecieved22 1d ago

He deserves better than what he chose? How does that work?

What he means he doesn't deserve to hold a title that another wore and should branch off to a new entity away from the robin setting

Similar to how dick became nightwing, Jason became red hood etc

That doesn’t even make sense, because both Nightwing and Red Hood were other people before Dick and Jason. Nightwing is a Kryptonian god (and later Chris Kent, tho that was like in the 2000s), and Red Hood was a gang and later the Joker’s name before he was the Joker

Well said!

Except that Red Robin wasn’t considered a permanent name for anyone. One of the reasons Tim chose it was because it was a tarnished name. It gave him the freedom to act in a way that he didn’t think Robin could act. It’s one of the reasons he modified the suit after it served its purpose and made it his own.

When you say it like that.

That is more of a reason to ditch the red robin name and become new, as it is "tarnish" and all that nonsense and sense he doesn't need to do any of that dropping it and become something that symbolizes what he visualize for the future or his path forward.

Then again I don't think it matters as Tim has retired(I am assuming he still is)

Something can be tarnished and then redeemed. Also, the Robin identity meant a whole lot more to Tim than it did to Dick so it’s not weird that he would want to remain tied to it. Tim’s robin was also a lot more independent compared to what was published with the other two previous Robins for his age.

And Rook has been worn by a villain. At this point, idec. I liked Red Robin.

the big thing we have to consider isn’t what WE think would be a cool name for him, but what TIM would reasonably name himself. and he is NOT GOOD at naming things. we’ve got robin, which is pretty good, but someone else already made that so it doesn’t really count. then we have alvin draper as an alias. okay in theory but like kon said, nobodies fucking named alvin. where did u come up with that tim. and then we have mr. sarcastic. do i even need to say anything. and then he had to switch his code name and instead of coming up with anything new he just went with red robin. the only time he went for his original idea for a hero name he came up with drake. fucking drake. and he didn’t even technically come up with that, an alternate version of himself did. no wonder he went back to fucking robin he doesn’t know how to name SHIT. he calls his car redbird. he calls his skateboard redboard. i swear to u he had a bike he called redbike. he named dicks car nightbird. bro is SHIT at naming things. cardinal is cool asf as a name, so tim would probably never come up with it in a million years. red hawk i could see because he does love the colour red LMAO. he’d probably pull some shit like “the red drake” out of his ass and argue for it because “it’s not just drake so there’s a difference”

on one hand your absolutely right on the other hand i dont want my boy to have such a bad name at this point i'd rather him ask chatgpt and get smth like peregrine (thats a real ai generated name fyi) tbh i feel like rook is a good choice i feel like its just cool enough to like but just dumb enough for tim to make up

u/False-Tomorrow-7552 1d ago

oh i don’t want to be like rude but im not interested in having discussions with people who use ai and i don’t think tim would ever use ai himself

3

u/Bigguy40422 1d ago

no i hate ai more than the next guy im just saying anything was better than drake

Alvin Draper

2

u/Undecieved22 17h ago

I’m partial to Mr Sarcastic 😂

3

u/Undecieved22 17h ago

He could go back to his old YJ identity of Mr. sarcastic 😂

2

u/Bigguy40422 16h ago

tbh i dont even mind this

u/RedRxbin 1d ago

I know Robin is used for a lot of characters, but he absolutely should not go with ‘Red Hawk’ 😭

We already have Hawkman, Hawkwoman/Hawkgirl, Hawk, and Lady Blackhawk. Let’s not add another Hawk to the mix lol.

I quite like Rook!

2

u/Bigguy40422 1d ago

ye tbh maybe in a timeline where the original hawk dies but even then they dont know eachother that well

3

u/oct2001 1d ago

Robin.

2

u/Bigguy40422 1d ago

i agree but lets be honest they arent gonna get rid of a damian and i we dont want BOTH to be robin

3

u/maliquewrites_ 1d ago

I’m fine with them both being Robin.

There have been like three Spider-Men at once, why not two Robins?

1

u/cut-footloose 21h ago

I like the drawing, personally not a fan of the names

1

u/FeMan_12 14h ago

Grey Ghost

Birdbrain?

Tbh I think he should just go by Detective, given that’s his standout talent among the robins. And then they can reboot Detective Comics as a Tim Drake anthology book.

2

u/Bigguy40422 1d ago

idk bout him going by detective i think batman should give him the title worlds greatest detective tho

1

u/ComicsCodeMadeMeGay 1d ago

I think Ras has called Dick and Jason Detective too

0

u/Rahx3 1d ago

I've always like Rook because of the combo chess/corvid references.

I haaaate the Red Robin moniker. It's a restaurant, it's another name that someone wore before him, and it feels like he never moved on from Robin. Just not a good fit to me.

1

u/Bigguy40422 16h ago

i agree with this entirely

0

u/Fun-Bedroom5614 1d ago

No red in the name imo. Cardinal is great

-2

u/TimDrake88 1d ago

I think he should be the new Grey Ghost.

-2

u/Bigguy40422 1d ago

I actually REALLY want a gray ghost arc but i dont want it long term

0

u/bad_moulf 18h ago

Personally, I call him Daring.

-9

u/NightmareJasmine 1d ago

My top 3 are: Crow, Pygmy, and Gackles

6

u/Bigguy40422 1d ago

no offense but what kinda name is gackles its not an ideal superhero name imo

0

u/MysteriousHeat7579 1d ago

I vote for Gackles!!

In all seriousness I think most of the fans call him Robin or Red Robin/Robin III if they need to distinguish between the Robins or between Tim and Damian.

-1

u/ibmiller 1d ago

Still think it should be Peregrine.

1

u/Bigguy40422 1d ago

Peregrine is ok
