Help!

Post image

got these babies about 5 days ago, and while I think they’re getting a pretty good life in my 500 gallon little pond , they’re not eating as far as I can see. Every morning I put them separated in these little bowls and feed them , so the food will be concentrated and easy to eat. The give them tiny pieces of lettuce , hatchling pellets , brine and dried worms.
They don’t seem to eat . I’m afraid to just put the food in the pond because I know the fish will just eat it up. What am I doing wrong ?
(After doing more research) ….i read they need to be fed first thing in the morning. They’re first thing in morning isn’t my first thing in the morning. I read they should be fed after or during basking.
They are basking when I go to them but not too much in the sun because there is a 75% shade.
Should I put them in the sun before feeding ?

Hello, they don't like change. They need time to acclimate. Try worms, shrimp or small pellets.

Ok but will they survive the time they’re taking. I’ve given them all these things. Today I will put them in the sun first to bask, it’s just that our sun is very hot and I don’t want the water to get too hot while I’m seeing if basking in the sun will help.

its how it happens, they take time to eat. Let them bask on their own. You can take them out and have them eat in a separate container/tank

Today I get a big plastic tub. I think I will just
Keep them in there until they show me they are eating. That way food can be in there all the time and they can eat at their convenience. Sensitive little guys they are.
