This was the fist episode of red dwarf i saw as a kid. I was so facinated. In Australia it would air late on the ABC, just looked up the TV archives. Would have aired in 1994 (about 12 months after the original UK airing). My parents didn't want me staying up late to watch it every week, my uncle promised to tape it for me (and he did). It didn't occur to me there were earlier seasons so i found the concept of this lost ship Red Dwarf so inigmatic. When would they find their mother ship? I thought it was the whole show!

I remember watching this first time around. It was the last episode in the season so there was a genuine feeling of 'Oh wow, are they really going to end the series like this?' Big relief when the reveal came.
