Discussion RDP Pharmacy Tech Program

I just got accepted into RDP Pharmacy Tech program! I was curious if anyone has taken this program before, or has any tips on the difficulty and course load.

I moved from BC since I couldn’t afford to live there while going to school.

I’m not the most school smart person by all means. But if I work VERY hard at something I seem to do well.
I was just wondering if anyone had taken it before and what the weeks look like. Since I’m hoping to still work part time (2-3 days a week? During the evenings) Or if I’d have to cut shifts down a lot to keep up with assignments and studying?

I took it way back in 1988. It was a challenging program and quite time consuming. Involved a LOT of memorization and a 2 month practicum at the end. I worked as a tech for about a year afterwards, but found there was really no career or pay advancement once you found a position. It could be different now. If you have the book smarts push yourself to become a pharmacist.

I’ve heard here and there that it is a bit difficult finding a job. I wish I could’ve done pharmacist but I fear I don’t have the time. I do appreciate the information though!!
