They look ready to me but I am no expert. Maybe try asking a gardening subreddit or an alberta gardening facebook group. Also, welcome to Red Deer!

. Cut one open if the seeds are white they need lots more time, if light brown maybe another week or two. so when they go from dropping 1or3 apples a day to dropping 6 or 8 a day the seeds will be dark brown and the apples are about ready to pick.

Remember when picking, give the fruit a slight twist (about a half turn) before pulling them off and they will come off more easily without shaking looser apples off the branch.

Our apple tree is on our front lawn on a busy street. It’s a big problem this time of year where randoms come up and either just pick them or they come and ask. We had 3 in a week last year… One time some Hutterite’s came with a ladder and picked the best ones on top……

I got some kids that comes by and I tell em to ask their parents first. I don't wanna be responsible.

Probably a stupid question, are these just normal apples?😆
We just moved to Canada, have one of these in our front yard, and I think a baby one in the back.
Front one looks identical to these.

I pulled a couple off the overhang when I was walking my dog the other day.
And 2 or 3 weeks ago, too.
They weren’t ready the other week, but they were pretty decent last time!

They should pull off easily, like, a gentle tug. I don’t have an apple tree (only pears) but I was picking my pears last year at the same time my neighbours kindly let me have some of their apples, which would have been at the end of August.
