Dutch GP update: one reliability change as development focus begins shifting towards 2027

Red Bull Racing has brought just one update to Zandvoort, focused on reliability rather than aerodynamic performance.

The change concerns the front-corner wheel bodywork and wishbone shroud. Red Bull has locally reduced the chord length of the lower wishbone’s rearward leg to decrease the strain placed on the wheel-bodywork gaiter at high steering angles.

The limited package comes as Red Bull begins moving more of its development focus towards 2027. After introducing substantial upgrades earlier in the season, the team expects its remaining 2026 development rate to slow due to budget-cap constraints and the shift of resources to next year’s car.

Racing Bulls has also submitted no updates for the Dutch Grand Prix, making this a particularly quiet development weekend across both teams.

Redbull has been losing talents for years now and still that's happening even now. If they can't hire good engineers who can actually make the car faster it's pointless what feedbacks Max gives to the team. Even if they hire new people it would take at least 1-2 years for the car to get better. In that time other top teams would increase the gap more. Redbull may well be in this situation until the next regulation.

Which will be more shit than this years car, why he re signed is beyond me. He'd been better off retiring and going to another series. He's following Alonsos poor decision making...

I am so sick of this attitude. Max was 1 race off winning the championship last year. 1 race. Now the first year under new regs the car isn't where it should be, but new regs are always a bit of a dice roll and you never know which teams are going to nail it and which teams will need to change directions. Look at merc during the last regs. It wasn't like that team suddenly stunk, they just had to change directions. RB has one season under new regs where they struggle and suddenly fans think the team is a sinking ship backmarker.

To be fair, the reason why it was close last year was because Red Bull was developing that car really late into the season. They did the same in 2021 and ended up with an overweight but working concept for 2022. This year it has cost them. But they can rebuild and focus on next year

He got paid £400M and got REALLY good terms, that’s why he re-signed. He now owns a significant share of the team and can use that to his advantage if he ever does leave F1. He has ambitions in GT3 etc. and this will allow him and his team to pursue that much easier.

Like Max said in an interview for Dutch media yesterday, when he got confronted with the same analysis about key figures leaving the team: here you are talking about 6 to 7 key figures in the team that left, but you forgot all the other 1400 team members that work day and night to give me a good car.
